At Hotel deLuxe, we pay homage to the golden age of cinema. In the lobby, a video wall has larger-than-life images of the silver screen’s most luminous stars. On display in our corridors and guestrooms, you’ll find an expertly curated collection of historic film stills and behind-the-scenes studio shots from Hollywood films of the 1930s, 40s and 50s, presented in a gallery-like fashion.

As you wander from floor to floor, discover a variety of movie themes that bring out the film buff in you. On the 2nd floor, pay tribute to Alfred Hitchcock, and be riveted by stills taken from his masterfully suspenseful movies, including a shot of Jimmy Stewart in “Vertigo.” Take the elevator to the 3rd floor and get swept away by shots featuring song and dance masters, including everyone’s favorite, Gene Kelly. On the 4th floor, immerse yourself in the early films that challenged and changed Hollywood forever, from Brando in “A Streetcar Named Desire” to a young Orson Welles in “Citizen Kane.”

A Room With A Large Screen Television

On the 5th and 6th floors, be inspired by an international range of filmmaking, from immigrant directors who became some of America’s greatest film influencers (including outspoken Otto Preminger and storytelling William Wyler), to Europeans who demonstrated the universal language and appeal of film (think Roberto Rossellini, or Charlie Chaplin comedies). On the 7th floor, pay homage to The Exiles –Michael Curtiz, Ernst Lubitsch, Erich von Sternberg – and view historic stills from their films, including Marlene Dietrich in “Shanghai Express” and classic Bogie in “Casablanca.”

Finally, on the 8th floor, peruse fascinating photos taken of film sets of the great Masters – Billy Wilder, George Cukor and Frank Capra – whose contributions are a lasting legacy to the greatness of American cinema.
