Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Portland, OR, by real estate investor and former Ambassador Gordon Sondland, Provenance has evolved into a highly successful owner and previous operator of boutique hotels.  

Since its founding, Provenance has owned and managed over 35 hotels in the United States, including award-winning boutique properties Sentinel in Portland and Hotel Theodore in Seattle. 

Today, Provenance owns 10 independent boutique hotels across six cities. Provenance is also an investor in the Paramount Hotel in Seattle and Benson Hotel in Portland.
