Illuminators Share: Thankful in Seattle

In Seattle, we know we have a lot to be thankful for. There’s the gorgeous cityscape, the buzzworthy dining scene, palpable creative energy, and unrivaled access to nature. But don't take our word for it. We turned to two of our Illuminators to see what they're thankful for when it comes to living in the Emerald City.

Leonard Garfield, Executive Director of MOHAI

I am thankful that in November 1851, Chief Seattle and his fellow Duwamish greeted the very first American settlers to this region, shared basic foodstuffs and other necessities to survive that rainy Fall, and laid the foundation for the future city of Seattle.  It was essentially the first Thanksgiving in Seattle history.
