Portland 101: Where to Hear Live Music in Portland
In addition to coffee, rose gardens and rain, Portland is known for its diverse local music scene. From techno and hip hop, to jazz and big-name artists, there’s music to be found every night of the week. While you’re out and about after happy hour, check out some of the best music venues around town.
McMenamins Crystal Ballroom
The Crystal Ballroom is a historic Portland music venue located on Burnside, just across from Powell’s City of Books. If you’re looking to catch bigger name bands, this should be your go-to. Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
Portland’s home for classical music, this performing arts center hosts the Oregon Symphony as well as several youth orchestras. The ornate, Italianate hall dates back to 1928, and is one of our favorite spots to catch a concert in town. LaurelThirst Public House
LaurelThirst Public House is the oldest independently owned music venue in Portland, serving the community with daily, local music since 1988. Kells Irish Pub
