Provenance Hotels and Rosa Rosa Unite to Fuel Portland Frontline Medical Workers
As our healthcare workers spend long hours treating patients with Covid19, not seeing their families and grabbing food on the go, we’re humbled to join our partners at Rosa Rosa to show our love and support the best way we know how – a hearty, wholesome meal. Famed Portland Chef Vitaly Paley, who is a longtime partner of Provenance Hotels with restaurants that include Imperial, The Crown, Headwaters & Paley’s Place, reopened operations at Rosa Rosa, rehiring a small culinary team to support a meal delivery initiative, funded by The Gordon D. Sondland and Katherine J. Durant Foundation.
Chef Paley and Rosa Rosa Chef de Cuisine Matthew Hobbes have been busy planning daily menus of nutritious entrees for medical professionals treating COVID-19 patients at both St. Vincent Hospital and Providence Portland Medical Center. Over the next 60 days, the teams at Rosa Rosa and Provenance will safely hand deliver 150 meals every day – reaching 7,000 in total. Chef Hobbes adds, “It’s about service in a different form. We’ve got to take care of each other and bridge our community. It’s got to be stronger than ever right now, it’s super important. Even if just for 10 minutes in a day we can provide an escape for them to step away, eat something delicious and feel appreciated. That’s what this is for.”

The talented chefs have also enlisted local Oregon farmers; Weppler Farms and Latitude 45 Farms for the initiative, providing a source of income for farms that have long served our Portland restaurants. “We are so grateful that all of our partners are working together to do good,” said Chef Paley. “Feeding those who are caring for others around the clock carries such a hopeful message for me.” Through the support of volunteer staff at Provenance Hotels, we are able to deliver these meals every day, seven days a week to make sure our Healthcare workers do not go hungry as they care for our community. “We just want to share that we love and care for them and are appreciative of them putting themselves on the front line.” shares Katy Durant, CEO of Provenance Hotels. “We’re honored to be able to support them, and sending our love to them through Chef Paley, Chef Matt and the Rosa Rosa teams’ food.” For more information about this program or to volunteer your support, please reach out to our team at Provenance Hotels at press@proveancehotels.com or Providence Foundations of Oregon.
